This method of storing electricity was proposed by Mouchout in the 19th century. <p>Thermogenerators have been using Solar Heating of panels of antimony and bismuth to generate electricity, worldover. They were also used by NASA in Cassini, Viking and Galileo deep space missions, where <a href="http://www.solarinstall.co.uk" target="_blank">Solar Heating</a> was used to power the probes as an energy conversion technology. The beauty of it is that these probes function even today since launch. The present research is focused on increasing the efficiency of these devices, threefold, to power larger ships and deeper space missions.</p>
